Project presentation

The aim of this project is to design a converter to transform the content of a website made by WordPress into the Hdoc format. Hdoc is a pivot format that has been created in order to allow the conversion from a given format to another one under a project workshop for the course NF29. Since WordPress is one of the most used CMS[1] for website creation, our deliverable converter used with another appropriate one, will be very useful for people who want to export their datas from their website in order to publish them in other format (other than web for example).

WordPress presentation

WordPress is a CMS which enables users to create their own websites easily. It has two main publication formats :

Posts and pages.

The information related to both posts and pages are the following:

  • Title ;

  • Shortlink ;

  • Visibility (public, private) ;

  • State (Published, draft, waiting for validation) ;

  • Publication date ;

  • Featured image ;

  • Author ;

  • Content.

The information related only to the posts are:

  • Categories ;

  • Tags.

The content is made out of html and shortcodes. Our converter will transform the shortcodes and we will use an external converter to transform the html.
